About the estate:
Though somewhat secluded, Château du Tertre is situated on a single, splendid hillock of siliceous gravel and has been magnificently restored and renovated by its Dutch owner, Éric Albada Jelgersma. Its aromatic, very fresh, and elegant character owes much to the proportion of excellent Cabernet Franc in the vineyard’s blend. Excellent value for the price.

About the estate:
Under the leadership of Alexander Van Beck, its director, Château du Tertre has established itself as one of Margaux’s most reliable wines. Following its acquisition by Eric Albada Jelgersma, the estate underwent a profound transformation and modernization. Lower yields and significant investments have resulted in a full-bodied, lively wine that fully justifies its classification. The most recent vintages have proven particularly successful, with a style that remains straightforward—sometimes a bit austere—but ages well, thanks to a significant proportion of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc in the blend.

The Château du Tertre 2025 was harvested from September 8 to 22 and aged in 40% new oak barrels. It has a cohesive and precise nose, with an abundance of black fruit and notes of graphite that, stylistically, bring it closer to a Pauillac. Beautifully defined. On the palate, it is medium-bodied, with an attack that is again quite typical of a Pauillac thanks to that hint of graphite. Well-defined and with satisfying length, this is an elegant du Tertre—one of the best I’ve tasted from the barrel. 2031–2050
