“You can feel the warmth of summer in the texture and character of the fruit here, which has been handled exceptionally well, and there’s a sense of elevation alongside Magrez’s signature glamour. The velvety plum aromas demonstrate its ambition and forward momentum, with a touch of oak. It takes its time and reveals a velvety finish. ” (Decanter 2021) - Delivery in a wooden case is available for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on the country and selected shipping method)

Estate rated "Recommended" (Wine producer recommended by Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate)
About the wine:
Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2018 Grands Chênes bursts from the glass with exuberant notes of cooked black plums, warm blackcurrants, and boysenberries, along with hints of pencil shavings, wild sage, and crushed stone. The medium- to full-bodied palate is brimming with vibrant, crisp black fruit, supported by fine-grained tannins and plenty of freshness, and finishes with an irresistible herbaceous kick.

Rated estate (2017 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking, and as such, all the estates listed here—even those without a star—represent, in our view, the pinnacle of French winemaking.)
About the estate:
This estate in the northern Médoc, taken over by Bernard Magrez in 1998, has always produced well-structured, straightforward wines. They are vinified in the same spirit as all the group’s other estates, expressing richness, power, and concentration against a backdrop of imposing oak, while retaining a pleasant freshness on the finish. Lovers of this expressive style of wine will find much to enjoy here.

Wine rated (2020 guide) 90/100
About the wine:
The style has certainly changed! An inviting bouquet with notes of raspberries and blackberries. Delicious and well-balanced on the palate. The wine is juicy and supported by firm but well-integrated tannins. A wine that deserves a little aging. 2023–2036
Vert de Vin
Wine rated (2019 guide) 90/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)
About the wine:
The nose is aromatic. It reveals notes of blackberry, flowers (violet, peony), and, more subtly, crushed blackcurrant, combined with delicate hints of licorice and chocolate. On the palate, the wine is fruity and well-balanced, offering good definition, a lovely mineral backbone, fine-grained texture, richness, elegance, and a lovely mouthfeel. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of crushed blackcurrant, plump strawberry, and, more subtly, small, plump or crushed red berries, combined with delicate hints of blackberry and violet, as well as subtle notes of licorice, toast, and a barely perceptible hint of vanilla and chocolate (in the background). Good length. The tannins are well-integrated and refined.
The Wine Cellar Insider - Jeff Leve
Wine rated (2021 guide) 91/100
About the wine:
Round, lush, juicy, sweet, and fresh—the ripe cherries come through loud and clear. The oak is nearly fully integrated; now you’ll find notes of smoke, flowers, earth, and licorice, with a hint of espresso to complement all the ripe, delicate fruit. This is one of the best vintages of Les Grands Chênes. The wine was crafted from 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon.

Of the 16 bottles we bought, 2 were very good and just like the one we had tasted before ordering in bulk; the rest were sour and undrinkable.
