Clos Manou
Clos Manou is owned by Françoise and Stéphane Dief, two passionate winemakers who produced their first vintage in 1998. Over the past 15 years, the vineyard has grown from 12 acres to 18 hectares, guided by a single philosophy: to produce the very best, to prioritize quality above all else—both in the vineyard and in the wine; to always seek a balance among all the elements that define the winemaker’s craft; and to draw equally on both tradition and modernity.

Three terroirs with distinct yet complementary styles make up the Clos Manou vineyard in equal parts: deep Graves on clay located along the banks of the Gironde estuary, sandy Graves situated on the lower slopes, and clay on limestone in the town of Couqueques. The vines are cultivated according to the principles of organic farming, with careful and thoughtful attention. The grapes are harvested by hand, and vinification takes place at low temperatures; extraction is achieved through pumping over in concrete tanks and exclusively through manual punching down in oak tanks.

Clos Manou is aged for 17 months in new barrels made exclusively from French oak, and the second cuvée, Petit Manou, is aged for 12 months in the barrels previously used for the first wine.
