“A striking, precise, and harmonious wine. Given its current condition, it is poised to age beautifully for decades to come. A tremendous success! ~ Yves Beck”
“Grand-Puy-Lacoste 2025 reveals a classic, refined bouquet of blackcurrant, dark berries, cedar, and pencil shavings, enhanced by subtle floral notes. Medium- to full-bodied, structured, and precise, it centers on a well-defined fruity core, framed by fine, youthful tannins with a taut profile. Less showy than some of its Pauillac counterparts, it prioritizes balance and typicity over raw power, finishing with a long, elegant, and mineral-driven finish. This is the first vintage vinified in the estate’s new gravity-fed cellar, allowing for a more precise selection of plots—a development that seems to enhance the wine’s precision and consistency. ” (Wine Advocate 2026)

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2021 guide): 4* Stars (Producers of the very highest quality, the pride of French viticulture)
About the estate:
The estate boasts one of the best-located and most consistent terroirs in Pauillac, with significant potential from its old Cabernet Sauvignon vines, which give the wine its remarkable body and very noble spicy aromas. François-Xavier Borie manages it with wisdom, skill, and an evident commitment to Médoc classicism. The second wine, Lacoste-Borie, has clearly improved since 2014, but it will be produced in smaller quantities in the future as it will no longer include the young vines from Château Haut-Batailley.

Rated estate (2021 guide) 2*Stars (These exceptional estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves that, thanks to the consistency and excellence of their wines, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers)
About the estate:
This estate has had only two owners in 75 years: Raymond Dupin, from 1932 to 1978, followed by the Borie family, represented today by François-Xavier and his daughter Emeline. They manage this Fifth Growth estate, which features a homogeneous vineyard on the gravel and clay plateau of Grand-Puy, with a significant proportion of old vines. Consistency has been flawless for over a decade now, and some older vintages continue to surprise. “GPL,” as they say in Bordeaux, produces a classic Pauillac—full-bodied and lively, with richly spiced tannins and a rather straightforward style. In great vintages, it acquires a magnificent smoothness that improves with age.

About the wine:
An excellent red wine, medium-bodied to full-bodied, offering a lovely expression of well-balanced dark fruit. It is fresh and precise, with grainy, well-integrated tannins that should only become more harmonious with time. A blend of 76% Cabernet Sauvignon and 24% Merlot.

About the wine:
The bouquet of Grand-Puy-Lacoste immediately impresses with its intensity, freshness, and complexity. It reveals its aging through hints of fresh oak, but this merely sets the stage to further enhance the overall aromatic profile. Smooth on the palate, the wine unfolds seamlessly, with serenity, precision, and without a hitch. Its powerful tannins act with precision and display their vigor in a measured way, without excess, blending seamlessly with the wine’s incisive acidity. A striking, precise, and harmonious wine, in its current form, it is poised for the decades to come. A tremendous success! 97-98 2032-2065
