“The 2015 Carbonnieux Blanc opens with aromas of white grapefruit, lemon zest, and fresh pears, with hints of dill seed, white pepper, musk, and a touch of stone. With a relatively light body, the palate is supported by wonderful acidity, ranging from intense lemon to mineral flavors and herbaceous notes on the finish.” (Wine Advocate 2018 - Robert Parker) Delivered in a wooden case for all orders of 12 bottles of this wine (excluding Pickup Point delivery method)

Wine rated (2019 guide) 14,5/20 (Good wine)

Rated estate (2022 guide): 3 stars (High-quality production, setting the standard in its sector)

About the estate:

Owned since 1956 by the charming Perrin family, this great classic of the Pessac-Léognan appellation captivates not only with its production volume—especially for whites—but also with the consistency and distinctiveness of its style. The very pale whites are fresh, lively, and exceptionally refined, but since 2009 they have gained in richness and body. The reds have gained significantly in power and density and rival the very best.

Wine rated (2017 guide) 15/20 (Good wine)

Rated estate (2022 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)

About the wine:

A truly outstanding wine with a style that combines power and freshness. This year’s white is very fresh and delicate, with citrus notes and a crisp palate—perfect for drinking within three years.

About the estate:

Brothers Éric and Philibert Perrin, along with their sister Christine Lescuyer, continue to develop this important estate, which has evolved considerably over the past decade, consistently producing a delicious wine. The new generation is taking over; the 2019 vintage was brilliantly vinified by the young Andréa Perrin. Elegant and refreshing, the whites have gained in expressiveness while developing more body on the palate. They do not age indefinitely, and we recommend enjoying them within the first five years after bottling. However, a few exceptional vintages may hold magical surprises when cellared. The reds, serious and consistent, though often austere in their youth, have also gained in body density. They never taste as good as they do between five and ten years of age. The vineyard is continuing its restructuring program by replacing the Sauvignon Blancs on the fine gravel terroirs with Cabernet Sauvignon.

Tasted in December 2019. Light citrus notes on the nose, reminiscent of lemon. Full-bodied on the palate with no acidity. Pairs perfectly with oysters and fish terrines.
