"Extremely refined nose, ripe but not overly so fruit, subtle oak, perfect spicy and floral notes, rich and full-bodied on the palate with a delicious texture, richness and superb liveliness on the finish. Endlessly long and will age incredibly well. A wine of great stature." (Le Guide des Vins Bettane & Desseauve) Delivery in wooden cases for orders of 6 bottles of this wine delivered in France.

Wine rated 19/20 (Wine of exceptional quality)

Rated estate (2021 guide) 5 stars (Exceptional producers, representing the absolute pinnacle of quality in France and worldwide)

About wine:

Extremely refined nose, ripe but not overly so fruit, subtle oak, perfect spicy and floral notes, rich and full-bodied on the palate with a delicious texture, richness and superb liveliness on the finish. Endlessly long and will age incredibly well. A wine of great stature.

About the estate:

This is a property that is admired by all, boasting a superb vineyard in a single block surrounding the château, one of the best cultivated in the Bordeaux region. Olivier Bernard is a tireless ambassador for Bordeaux wines around the world. He is also one of those who knows the value of their product most intimately, thanks to daily tastings with the countless visitors to the estate, a pioneer in welcoming the public. The whites are the most distinguished in the commune, the reds are models of Bordeaux classicism in their proportions and flavor. The latest reds are very impressive for their extra body and complexity. Beautiful nuances, tension, and energy for the white esprit-de-chevalier, which is the perfect reflection of a great wine. The 2016, 2017, and 2018 reds and whites are simply at their peak, and the estate richly deserves its 5-star rating.

About wine:

Closed on the nose at first, the 2017 Domaine de Chevalier Blanc (composed of 70% Sauvignon Blanc and 30% Sémillon) opens up with aromas of ripe pear, delicious golden apples, and white peach with hints of straw, honeysuckle, and chalk. Medium-bodied, the palate is seriously intense and racy with lots of mineral sparkle on the finish. It was aged for 16 months in French oak barrels, 35% of which were new.

Rated estate (2022 guide) 2 stars (These very large estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).

About the estate:

Since 1983, the Bernard family has been doing everything possible to keep this beautiful estate at the forefront of the appellation. Thanks to state-of-the-art technology and a vineyard that has now reached the age necessary to produce great grapes, the wines are impeccable, both white and red. The vineyard, located in one of the coolest areas of the appellation, on the edge of the Landes forest, is maintained like a garden. The white grapes are sorted with extreme care and their vinification has become considerably more sophisticated, without altering the style or class of this highly reputed wine. Chevalier embodies finesse and elegance, without compromising its aging potential.

About wine:

This wine is dense, with concentrated spices and rich white fruits and kiwis. The acidity is significant, giving the wine impressive fruitiness and aging potential, as suggested by the texture and wood flavors. Best enjoyed at perfect maturity in 2022.
