About the estate:

The Espiot family, which already owned properties in the Blaye region, acquired this estate—formerly known as Château Ladoar—in 2004: 8.7 hectares not far from the Smith Haut Lafitte and Bouscaut châteaux. Sébastien Espiot has been at the helm since 2007, having returned to the family estates after spending about ten years working for a multinational corporation.

A very light wine with insufficient body. In 2019, it’s past its prime. Doesn’t deserve the Pessac-Léognan appellation. Ruby color with an orange rim. Classic nose with hints of strawberry and orange. Soft on the palate; reminds me of the strawberry flavor found in some Chinons or Saumurs. Lacks subtlety. Reminds me of a truly low-end Saint-Estèphe. I imagine the owners will continue to work on improving this wine. In the meantime, it’s a wine of no interest whatsoever. Best forgotten.
