Ferran Castle
Château Ferran, located in the heart of the Pessac-Léognan AOC in the Bordeaux region, was once owned by Montesquieu, a philosopher and winegrower who owned the estate in the 18th century. Château Ferran benefits from a terroir that has consistently produced red and white wines (formerly labeled “Premiers graves Martillac”). Owned since 1880 by an old Bordeaux family, the descendants of Joseph Beraud-Sudreau, Philippe and Ghislaine Lacoste, have managed the Château Ferran estate since 1999.

Extensive work to restructure the Château Ferran vineyard and renovate the cellars undertaken in recent years has been quickly rewarded with numerous medals and high ratings from French, British, and American wine critics, particularly during AOC Pessac-Léognan en primeur tastings. Work in the vineyard—including debudding, leaf removal, thinning, and hand-harvesting plot by plot, as well as sorting in the vineyard or in the vat room—allows us to select and blend the best lots during aging for Château Ferran, and to produce a second, more approachable wine under the name Château de Belloc.
