Wine rated (2020 guide) 89/100 (Very good wine)

About the wine:

Deep garnet-purple in color, the 2019 Château Bellegrave opens with enticing notes of plum jam, blueberry tart, and blackberry compote, with hints of licorice, earth, cinnamon stick, and garrigue. Medium-bodied, the palate is bursting with juicy black fruits and plenty of spicy accents, framed by velvety tannins and just the right amount of freshness, finishing with a hint of anise.

Wine rated (2021 guide) 92/100

About the wine:

This bouquet exudes elegance and precision. It is complex and deep, revealing notes of black berries, licorice, and spices. On the palate, it has a creamy character, with tight tannins that harmonize with the wine’s fresh acidity. This wine is still somewhat monolithic but has substance and potential.

Wine Green

Vert de Vin

Wine rated (2020 guide) 91-92/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)

About the wine:

The nose is fruity and offers juiciness, a touch of power (yet controlled), a subtle freshness, a subtle intensity, and precision. It features notes of boysenberry, wild blackcurrant, and, more subtly, cuben pepper, combined with hints of wild strawberry, lily, and iris, as well as touches of tonka bean, toasted notes, tea, and a very subtle hint of cardamom. On the palate, it is fruity, juicy, and balanced, offering smoothness, a delicate freshness, as well as a subtle tension and richness. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy, juicy blackcurrant, juicy wild raspberry, and, to a lesser extent, blueberry and violet, combined with hints of blue berries, as well as hints of toast, chocolate, and very subtle hints of cardamine, tea, and cuben pepper. Good length. The tannins are well-integrated. A subtle savory quality on the finish and in the aftertaste.
