“A brilliant example of fruit-forward wine combined with remarkable freshness!”

“Deep purple. A subtle and complex bouquet with fruity, spicy, and refreshing notes. Hints of blueberries and milk chocolate. The palate is also very fresh. The wine is juicy, lively, and features tannins that harmonize perfectly with the structure. These tannins have a fine texture and blend beautifully with the acidity. A wine of great finesse. Bravo to the entire Mazeyres team!” (Yves Beck 2019) - Delivery in a wooden case is available for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on country and selected shipping method)

Rated 3 stars (A high-quality product that serves as a benchmark in its sector)

About the estate:

As at Fonroque (Saint-Émilion), director Alain Moueix—a talented viticultural engineer and oenologist from a prominent family of Libourne winegrowers and merchants—brings his dedication, expertise, and know-how to the table. The essential contribution of biodynamics places this estate on an upward trajectory of quality, earning it well-deserved recognition. The resulting wines are lively and elegant. The latest vintages prove to be charming.

Wine rated (2024 guide) 94/100

Rated estate (2023 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)

About the wine:

Even in the sunniest vintages, the wines retain an admirable freshness. The 2018 Mazeyres is a brilliant example of this, perfectly embodying this focus on fruit. Already very approachable, the wine nevertheless has real aging potential.

About the estate:

Located at the northern entrance to Libourne, this large estate is managed by Alain Moueix. He applies the same viticultural philosophy here as he does at Château Fonroque in Saint-Émilion. The vineyard was certified organic in 2015 and biodynamic in 2018. Shaped by the very nature of the Mazeyres terroir to be elegant and balanced, the wines have reached a new level in recent vintages. We are captivated by these Pomerols—harmonious, refined, and natural all at once—with a breathtaking finesse of flavor. The time has come for their first star.

About the wine:

Delicate, subtle aromas of blackcurrant and violet give way to a medium-bodied wine with firm tannins and a delicate finish. Crisp. Best enjoyed after 2023.

Wine Green

Vert de Vin

Wine rated (2021 guide) 93/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)

About the wine:

The nose is fresh, elegant, and complex, offering both intensity and depth. It features notes of crisp blackberry, fresh violet, and a hint of lilac, combined with hints of fresh and ripe blueberries and raspberries, as well as varietal notes of gray pepper and a touch of fresh tobacco. The palate is fresh, fruity, and mineral, well-balanced, with a juicy, tangy structure, freshness, a delicate crispness, smoothness, roundness, silkiness, and a very fine concentration. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackcurrant, fresh/crisp blackberry, and more subtle hints of violet, combined with touches of vibrant blue berries as well as hints of fresh/ripe raspberry, blueberry, varietal notes, fresh coffee, and caramelization. Good length. A lingering finish with notes of black berries, coffee, flowers, and a hint of varietal character. Good length.
