"Everyone agrees: sparkling, fascinating, magnificent..."
The notions of freshness, precision, and complexity are evident from the very first whiff. The 2021 BSB is bursting with energy and tension, but also has a slight sweetness. It is a clear, high-definition wine with many details that only reinforce its relevance. The tannins, coupled with the acidic structure, provide a very nice foundation, and the wine is literally riding high. Not necessarily in terms of power, but above all in terms of its temperament, its energetic, mouthwatering, crystalline and persistent character. And, above all, the nature of Beau-Séjour Bécot is clearly present, with subtle hints (timid nuances of chocolate and ripe black berries) that remind us exactly where we are. A sparkling, sapid, even thirst-quenching wine that makes you want to have another glass... at least! (Yves Beck 2023) - Delivery in wooden cases is available for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on the country and shipping method selected).

Rated estate (2018 guide) 2 stars (These very large estates, often blessed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, deserve a place in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).
About the estate:
Beautifully located in the central-western part of the Saint-Emilion limestone plateau, the vineyard is masterfully managed by the Bécot brothers, Dominique and Gérard, who produce an expressive wine with integrity and density. Gérard Bécot officially retired on January 2, 2014. Overall management has been entrusted to his son-in-law, Julien Barthe, husband of Juliette Bécot, who continues to oversee the winemaking process. Dominique Bécot, Gérard's brother, remains at the head of the vineyard. His children Pierre and Caroline also work on the estate. In January 2014, Beauséjour purchased Château Haut-Pourret, 2.5 hectares on the south coast, which will be vinified in the La Gomerie cellar under the Le Bécot de Beau-Séjour label. Winemaking methods are evolving, aiming for an elegant approach to the fruit, seeking to give volume to the firmness and length of wines produced from limestone. Maintaining its status as a premier grand cru classé in 2012, the château obtained authorization to integrate the La Gomerie plot into its cadastre.

Wine rated (2023 guide) 96/100
About wine:
Beau-Séjour Bécot 2021 is powerful, dense, and very flavorful, with a strong Cabernet Franc presence. Red cherry, blood orange, spices, mint, rose petal, incense, and burnt earth give this deep, layered Saint-Émilion tons of complexity on the palate. It is a fascinating wine that is so typical of its terroir. 2029-2051
Terre de Vins
Wine rated (2022 guide) 96-97/100
About wine:
With a very delicate, precise, and striking expression of fruit, Beau-Séjour Bécot expresses its slender and invigorating character. The 2021 vintage displays all the hallmarks of this terroir: floral notes, slender minerality, and a propulsive character. The definition is impeccable, arched over perfectly juicy flesh, with a tracing acidity that lengthens the wine and finely chiseled tannins. This is a very fine success for the vintage.

Vert de Vin
Wine rated (2022 guide) 98-99/100 (Jonathan Choukroun Chicheportiche)
About wine:
A lovely, powerful nose (with finesse), beautifully racy, offering intensity with precision, mastery, elegance, harmony, straightforward elegance, and a certain limestone strength. There are notes of bright wild blackberry, small black berries and, more subtly, limestone, combined with hints of graphite, spices, wild strawberry, fine touches of pepper and lily, and a subtle hint of cardamom and an almost camphor-like note. The palate is beautifully executed, balanced, racy and offers freshness, tension, precision, juiciness, a lovely acidic structure, a subtle "infusion" aspect, a lovely finesse of grain and controlled power. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of juicy/pulpy blackcurrant, juicy/pulpy cherry and, more subtly, juicy/fresh black berries combined with delicate hints of bright wild strawberry, subtle hints of licorice, bourbon vanilla, a subtle hint of juicy/pulpy blueberry, as well as discreet hints of cardamom and an imperceptible hint of tobacco, cinnamon, and oriental spices. The tannins are well-integrated, elegant, mellow, and sapid. Good length and persistence. Subtle and meticulous in its freshness and richness/generosity.

Wine rated (2024 guide) 96/100
About wine:
Aromas of licorice, cherry, flowers, cocoa, iodine nuances, and a hint of cigar wrapper mingle in the bouquet. On the palate, the wine expresses purity, energy, grace, and elegance. The tannins are silky, the character is refined and relaxed, and above all, there is a magnificent sensation of purity in the red fruits that can be perceived in the middle of the palate, throughout the elegant, long, energetic, and sensual finish. The wine is composed of 85% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Franc, and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon. It is a great success for the vintage. 2025-2050
Anthocyanes - Yohan Castaing
Wine rated (2022 guide) 95-97/100
About wine:
Magnificent burst of black fruits, blackberry, blackcurrant, violet and a touch of lilac and black cherry. Purity and clarity. Such pure and clear aromatic precision! Straightforward on the palate, beautifully taut, with a structured finish and hyper-precise tannins for a Beau-Séjour Bécot that is very close to its terroir and has remarkable airy freshness. Unlike the sunny vintages, this vintage leaves this cru completely unfiltered and is surely one of those that best expresses the terroir of Beau-Séjour Bécot. Magnificent in its purity and limestone precision.
