“The jury was captivated by the subtle, elegant bouquet, with just the right amount of dark fruit and earthy notes. Beautiful texture on the palate—full-bodied and voluminous—with well-defined, precise tannins, a texture somewhere between silk and velvet, and a sumptuous, harmonious finish. We really loved it. ” (Terre de Vins 2020) - Please note: very limited quantities!

Bettane & Desseauve

Wine rated (2020 guide) 93/100

Rated 3 stars (A high-quality product that serves as a benchmark in its sector)

About the wine:

A beautiful, fresh structure supported by elegant, silky tannins, with a well-defined, savory finish and excellent length. The higher-than-usual proportion of Cabernet Franc—27%—shapes the finish.

About the estate:

This vast, contiguous 32-hectare vineyard, located on the Saint-Hippolyte plateau—the highest point in the appellation—has undergone numerous improvements and is beginning to express the terroir with great eloquence, bolstered by its Grand Cru Classé status, which it earned in 2012. Under the leadership of Pauline Bich Chandon-Moët and her husband, the estate has returned to the forefront and has equipped itself not only with a new, more modern production facility but also with a unique wine tourism complex, where visitors are welcomed “just like at home.” One of the most pleasant spots in the appellation. Spectacular progress, made possible by a highly talented technical team.

About the estate:

The Gasparoux family manages a 16-hectare vineyard divided between Château Ferrand (acquired in 1934), which covers 12 hectares on the southern slopes of the Pomerol plateau, and Haut Ferrand, which covers 4 hectares around the church in Pomerol and was acquired in the 1970s.

James Suckling

James Suckling

Wine rated (2021 guide) 95/100

About the wine:

Beautiful aromas of plum, chocolate, and hazelnut give way to a full-bodied palate with firm but well-integrated tannins. It also offers fantastic depth of fruit and structure. A powerful wine for this estate. It will need 5 to 6 years to mellow.

Terre de Vins

Wine rated (2020 guide) 94-95/100

About the wine:

The jury was captivated by the subtle, elegant bouquet, with just the right balance of dark fruit and earthy notes. The palate is beautifully structured, full-bodied, and voluminous, with well-defined, precise tannins; the texture is somewhere between silk and velvet, unfolding in a sumptuous, harmonious manner. We really enjoyed it.

Yves Beck

Yves Beck

Wine rated (2021 guide) 94/100

About the wine:

What finesse in this bouquet, which highlights its fruity character, chalky terroir, and aging. The chalky notes are evident on the palate, where the wine displays good structure that complements its fullness. The tannins are firm and silky, reaching their full potential on the very finish—a promising sign for the decades to come. A great success… once again! 2024–2042
