Grand Cru Classé

“The 2019 Fombrauge is one of the best wines I’ve tasted from this estate in a long time. It displays all the richness characteristic of Bernard Magrez’s style, but with less heaviness and a vibrant aromatic profile that helps balance the wine as a whole. Sweet black cherry, chocolate, leather, licorice, and mocha blend into a resonant and supremely expressive finish. This 2019 is a Fombrauge of great class .” (Vinous 2022 - Antonio Galloni) Delivered in a wooden case for any order of 6 bottles of this wine (excluding Point Relais delivery method)

Rated estate (2014 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)

About the estate:

“This magnificent estate is now the largest of the Saint-Émilion Grand Crus. Its ambitious owner, Bernard Magrez, is a hard worker who knows how to surround himself with the right people. Production quickly returned to its former glory: generous and meticulously crafted, the wines assert themselves as modern and flamboyant. Alexis Combe took over as manager of the estate, having applied for Grand Cru Classé classification in 2012 after bringing the estate into compliance by creating a dedicated winemaking facility for Magrez-Fombrauge.”

Tasting notes. Although this wine is well-structured, it also reveals generous notes of dark fruit that give it a succulent maturity. This wine should certainly age well.
