Château Fombrauge

Château Fombrauge
Château Fombrauge boasts a history dating back to the 15th century and was acquired by Bernard Magrez in 1999, who brought his meticulous expertise to the estate, particularly in the area of marketing, by reopening Château Fombrauge to the Bordeaux market.

In September 2012, the Château reached the pinnacle of the Saint-Émilion appellation hierarchy and officially became a Grand Cru Classé. This new classification crowns all the groundwork and the numerous investments made to improve the property.

In fact, as early as the spring of 1999, a reorganization plan had been put in place. Its priorities included: restructuring the vineyard, completely renovating the cellars, improving hospitality and reception facilities, restoring and refurbishing the charterhouse, and redesigning the gardens. It is these multifaceted efforts that have enabled—and will continue to enable— Château Fombrauge to raise its standards of quality ever higher.
