Rated estate (2014 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)

About the estate:

“This magnificent estate is now the largest of the Saint-Émilion Grands Crus. Its ambitious owner, Bernard Magrez, is also a hard worker who knows how to surround himself with the right people. Production quickly regained its footing: generous and meticulously crafted, the wines assert themselves as modern and flamboyant. Alexis Combe took over as director of the estate, having applied for Grand Cru Classé classification in 2012 after bringing the property into compliance by creating a dedicated winemaking facility for Magrez-Fombrauge.”

Vinous

Wine rated (2026 guide) 93-95/100

About the wine:

The Fombrauge 2025 is exceptional. Deep and supple, with a magnificent texture, this vintage has so much to offer. Aromas of black cherry and plum, rose petals, lavender, mocha, and a hint of blood orange give the 2025 Fombrauge a multitude of nuances. Like all Magrez wines from 2025, the Fombrauge captivates with its purity and brilliance.
