"Particularly good with truly superb sparkle and admirable fruit definition! ~ La RVF "
"Over the past 6 years, the proportion of Merlot has increased, giving this already charming cuvée greater stability, roundness and body. The expressive, fruity nose heralds a fleshy, fresh, digestible palate, framed by tonic, ripe tannins. The fine, powdery, licorice palette is already pleasant to taste. (Terre de Vins 2021) A fine wine, owned since 1940 by the Cazes family, who also run Château Lynch-Bages in Pauillac. - Delivery in wooden cases possible for orders of 6 bottles of this wine (depending on country and shipping method selected).

Bettane & Desseauve
Domaine rated (guide 2022) 3*Stars (High-quality production that can serve as a benchmark in its sector)
About the domain :
Les Ormes has disappeared, but the hamlet of Pez is still home to this lovely property, acquired by Jean-Michel Cazes. Vinification is carried out under the watchful eye of the Château Lynch-Bages teams, adding a little extra soul and, above all, elegance to the wine. With more careful and precise vinification than in the past, they have gained in refinement.
Decanter
Wine rated (2021 guide) 93/100
About the wine:
Concentrated, juicy aromas of blueberry, raspberry and blackcurrant. The wine is dominated by Merlot (following a restructuring of the vineyard to better align the grapes with the terroir), with bite and freshness. With a nice smoky touch, it's another successful vintage for Ormes de Pez. 4% Petit Verdot completes the blend. 3.69 hl. 45% new oak. A yield of 42 hl/ha, which is not as low here as at Lynch Bages due to the more clayey soil and the fact that Merlot was less affected by drought than Cabernet Sauvignon. 2024-2038

Wine rated (2024 guide) 94/100
Domaine rated (guide 2022) 1*Star (Stars in the making or quality winemakers with good production levels, you won't be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the wine:
Always admirably crafted, the wine is particularly good in 2020, with truly superb brilliance and admirable definition of fruit. Elegant yet intense, with elegant tannins, it's already irresistible.
About the domain :
This pretty estate owes its name to the beautiful elm trees that once adorned its garden. In the hands of the Cazes family (Lynch-Bages) since the 1930s, Ormes de Pez produces a wine that seduces wine-lovers with its full, rich, seductive bouquet. It's generally a fast-drinking wine, and has proved its consistency for over ten years, thanks to the work of a perfectly honed team. A bargain.

About the wine:
Owned by the Cazes family of Lynch-Bages in Pauillac, this is a quality wine that follows in the footsteps of this estate. With its well-established tannins, which support the aromas of black plum skin, this wine has great medium-term potential.

Wine rated (2023 guide) 94/100
About the wine:
A pretty nose of frésias, lilies, slightly peppery like a pinot noir, then on the palate, lots of delicacy, lots to say, with notes of blackberry, blackcurrant, sandalwood, and a bewitching finish. Between 2023 and 2053.

About the wine:
Ormes de Pez benefits from a clay-limestone terroir where Merlot is at ease, followed by sandy-limestone soils that suit Cabernet Sauvignon. The wine has good density and fine, perfectly integrated tannins. The limestone aspect of the terroir is reflected in the chalky nuances perceptible both on the nose and on the palate. A dense, powerful wine with an ideally structured finish. An Ormes de Pez of character that deserves a little cellaring. 2027-2045
