Château Ormes de Pez
Château Les Ormes de Pez traces its origins back to the 18th century. Located on the outskirts of the hamlet of Pez to the north of the commune of Saint-Estèphe, near Bordeaux, the Château Les Ormes de Pez estate owes its name to a magnificent bouquet of large elm trees, now extinct, and produces wines in the Saint-Estèphe appellation.
Acquired in 1940 by Jean-Charles Cazes, at the same time as he was managing Château Lynch-Bages, the Château Les Ormes de Pez vineyard today covers 37 hectares of Garonne gravel soil. Château Les Ormes de Pez's vineyard management and winemaking techniques combine the best of tradition and modernity, as at Château Lynch-Bages, which is still owned by the Cazes family, to produce harmonious wines with a spicy, voluptuous character, authentic expressions of the terroir of their appellation. Château Les Ormes de Pez is a well-balanced, aromatically complex wine.
