Château Ormes de Pez
Château Les Ormes de Pez dates back to the 18th century. Located on the edge of the hamlet of Pez, north of the commune of Saint-Estèphe, near Bordeaux, Château Les Ormes de Pez owes its name to a magnificent grove of large elm trees that no longer exist and produces wines in the Saint-Estèphe appellation.
Acquired in 1940 by Jean-Charles Cazes, at the same time as Château Lynch-Bages, which he was already managing, the Château Les Ormes de Pez vineyard now covers 37 hectares of Garonne gravel soil. The management of the Château Les Ormes de Pez vineyard and the winemaking techniques combine the best of tradition and modernity, as at the Château Lynch-Bages estate, which is still owned by the Cazes family, to produce harmonious wines with a spicy and voluptuous character, authentic expressions of the terroir of their appellation. Very well-balanced, Château Les Ormes de Pez offers great aromatic complexity.
