Ormes de Pez Castle
Château Les Ormes de Pez traces its origins back to the 18th century. Located on the outskirts of the hamlet of Pez, north of the town of Saint-Estèphe, near Bordeaux, the Château Les Ormes de Pez estate owes its name to a magnificent grove of tall elm trees—now gone—and produces wines within the Saint-Estèphe appellation.

Acquired in 1940 by Jean-Charles Cazes, along with Château Lynch-Bages, which he managed, the vineyard of Château Les Ormes de Pez now spans 37 hectares on Garonne gravel soil. The vineyard management and winemaking techniques at Château Les Ormes de Pez combine the best of tradition and modernity—just as at Château Lynch-Bages, which remains in the Cazes family’s ownership—to produce harmonious wines with a spicy and voluptuous character, authentic expressions of their appellation’s terroir. Château Les Ormes de Pez is very well-balanced and displays great aromatic complexity.
