"A Clos du Marquis of the highest caliber. Very well-rounded, creamy on the palate, and devilishly smooth. It easily rivals many classified growths! ~ La RVF"
"On the nose, a captivating, mischievous fruitiness, with rich yet delicate red fruits, giving the sensation of sinking into a velvet sofa. A magical blend of aromas, from ripe fruit to the freshness of plants after the rain, via freshly cut flowers. A divine palate of perfectly ripe fruit, carried by a savory structure that makes you want to take another sip. A real treat!" Rated estate (2020 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly recognized by the guide)
About wine:
This vintage produced a beautiful Clos du Marquis, made from 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 33% Merlot, and 6% Cabernet Franc. A Saint-Julien of remarkable intensity from start to finish: dense, even very dense color, tending towards black; rich nose of ripe black fruits, cherry brandy, smoke, and mocha; the palate is in harmony, full-bodied, powerful, with active tannins and a freshness that makes all the difference on the finish. Powerful, certainly, very powerful even, but also elegant, very elegant too, and full of flavor. 2030-2040
About the estate:
Often considered the second wine of Léoville Las Cases, Clos du Marquis, created in 1902, is in fact a wine in its own right. Its vineyard, planted on very homogeneous Mindel gravel soil, is located northwest of the village of Saint-Julien, while the grand clos is located northeast.

About wine:
The latest vintages will go a long way, like the splendid 2020 with its bright, brilliant fruit, a Clos du Marquis of the highest caliber. A very complete wine, creamy on the palate and devilishly smooth. A Clos that easily rivals many classified growths.
About the estate:
Long considered the second wine of Léoville Las Cases, Clos du Marquis is now a wine in its own right, produced from a selection of dedicated plots located in the heart of the classified growths area. It benefits from all the attention and expertise of the Las Cases team. It is no surprise that its quality is on a par with a third growth, with impeccable consistency to boot. A very good deal indeed.
