4-Star-Rated Estate (Producers of the very highest quality, the pride of French viticulture)
About the wine:
This rich, flavorful, and perfectly roasted Barsac offers excellent balance. It has great length and a confident, classic style.
About the estate:
This estate, located near Doisy-Daëne and managed by Olivier Castéja, has the same type of limestone soil typical of Haut-Barsac and produces a classic sweet wine—rich, full-bodied, and well-rounded—that will appeal to everyone. We’ve come to appreciate the increased finesse it has shown in recent years, thanks to better protection against oxidation. The prices are reasonable.

Rated estate (2021 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or high-quality winemakers producing wines of a good standard—you won’t be disappointed when you taste the wines from these estates)
About the estate:
Created when Doisy was divided into three estates, this cru is named after its former owners (until 1846), the Védrines. It is located near Climens, Coutet, and the two other Doisy estates (Daëne and Dubroca). The château maintains low yields, producing a wine that ranks among the richest on the nose and the sweetest in Barsac. It takes between five and ten years to reach its full potential, at which point it achieves the distinction and brilliance of the appellation’s star wines.

About the wine:
Doisy-Védrines 2025 was harvested between September 17 and October 13, over an 11-day period spread across three weeks. It does not yet possess the purity and intensity of the well-defined Doisy-Daëne, but it simply needs a little more time to express itself at this stage. On the palate, it is lively and creamy on the attack, slightly fuller-bodied than the typical Daëne, with remarkable length. It just lacks a bit of complexity for now; in fact, a second bottle offers a bit more tension. 140 g/l of residual sugar. 2030–2055

A smooth, understated wine with delicate aromas of candied apricots and honey. Medium-bodied, it charms with its character. A pleasant finish.
