“Very delicate aromatic profile. Great precision on the palate. A rich, lingering finish. A beautiful wine! ~ B&D”
“Doisy-Védrines 2009 offers a sumptuous bouquet with aromas of passion fruit, quince, beeswax, and fig, displaying great finesse and increasing intensity as it breathes. The palate is perfectly balanced, with lovely acidity that contrasts with the purity of the botrytized fruit and gives way to a rich and sumptuous finish. Olivier Castéja has produced an exceptional Barsac this year.” (Vinous 2019)

4-Star Estate (Producers of the very highest quality, the pride of French viticulture)
About the wine:
A very delicate bouquet. On the palate, it shows great precision. A rich, lingering finish. A beautiful wine. Unbeatable value! Best enjoyed before 2032
About the estate:
This estate, located near Doisy-Daëne and run by Olivier Castéja, has the same type of limestone soil typical of Haut-Barsac and produces a classic sweet wine—rich, full-bodied, and well-ripened—that will appeal to everyone. We appreciate the increased refinement it has shown in recent years, thanks to better protection against oxidation. The prices are reasonable.
Guide Hachette des vins
Wine noted (guide 2013) 1*Star (Very successful wine)
About the wine:
A beautiful 16th-century manor house, this château overlooks a vineyard with a solid reputation that this fine 2009 vintage will certainly uphold. While it looks impressive with its bright golden-yellow color, this wine also captivates with its fresh aromas of lemon and other citrus fruits, before charming the palate with its elegance, roundness, well-integrated oak, and long aromatic profile: marzipan, peach, apricot, and even spices (ginger). Don’t shy away from simple yet bold food pairings: asparagus or chicken.

Rated estate (2021 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)
About the estate:
Created following the division of Doisy into three estates, this cru bears the name of its former owners (until 1846), the Védrines. It is located near Climens, Coutet, and the other two Doisy estates (Daëne and Dubroca). The château maintains low yields, producing a wine that ranks among the richest on the nose and the sweetest in Barsac. It requires between five and ten years to fully develop, at which point it achieves the distinction and brilliance of the appellation’s star wines.

Wine rated (2012 guide) 94/100 (Exceptional wine)
About the wine:
Rich and complex, this wine is a true delight. Its delicate aromas of citrus, flowers, and white peach blend harmoniously with a heart of quince, fig, and persimmon, while notes of warm pie crust and honey-roasted almonds linger on the finish. With a very long finish, it retains superb structure despite its power. At its peak from 2015 to 2032. 6,000 cases, including 500 imported.

About the wine:
Still quite closed, this wine possesses a structure and intensity that concentrate the potential ripe aromas of apricots, mandarins, and a hint of lemon zest. All these flavors blend harmoniously with honey, which adds to its richness. — Roger Voss
