Domaine Au Pied du Mont Chauve
Now based in Chassagne-Montrachet, the Picard family business was founded in 1951 by Louis Félix Picard, who at the time owned two hectares of vineyards in the commune of Chagny. His son Michel joined him a few years later.

Francine Picard, Michel's daughter, has been managing the Picard family estates since 2007 and has been committed to extensively restructuring the 35-hectare Au Pied du Mont Chauve vineyard. Located in Chassagne-Montrachet, Saint-Aubin, and Puligny-Montrachet, Au Pied du Mont Chauve refers to the nickname given to the hill of the famous Montrachet. With an extremely rich parcel of land in these three exceptional wine-growing communes, Au Pied du Mont Chauve offers no less than twenty prestigious climats, including Les Demoiselles, Les Caillerets, and En Remilly. In a desire to create synergy between the terroir and the wine produced, the vines have been cultivated biodynamically without certification for many years, and the winemaking process is as natural as possible. Refined, delicate, and expressive, the wines of Au Pied du Mont Chauve are true gems of precision, whose perfectly controlled aging reveals a density and freshness of rare elegance on the palate.
