“A most elegant Saint-Aubin, both crisp and full-bodied, balanced by lovely acidity—truly worthy of a Côte de Beaune Premier Cru!”

The 2022 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Le Charmois offers an aromatic profile of superb complexity. Its aromas of juicy black cherries, cut grass, and violets lead the way, closely followed by subtle notes of blueberries and warm earth. The palate is silky, with firm tannins and a delightful finish. It also shows great aging potential.

Rated estate (2021 guide): 3 stars (High-quality production, setting the standard in its sector)

About the estate:

Francine Picard, Michel’s daughter, is devoting all her considerable energy and idealism to reshaping the style of the wines from the family estate, which spans 140 hectares of vineyards. Since May 2019, she has been supported by Antoine Lepetit, a biodynamic consultant and her new technical director. The estate will be certified organic by the end of 2019, and changes are expected to continue with even more precise winemaking and aging techniques. A substantial range of high-quality red and white wines offers a true glimpse into the different terroirs of the Chassagne and Saint-Aubin regions.
