James Suckling
“A 1er cru full of delicacy and roundness, the quintessence of its exceptional terroir...”
“The bouquet is full-bodied and generous, blending notes of ripe citrus and apple flesh with soft hints of chamomile. On the palate, it is fresh and delicate, with a lively acidity that highlights pink grapefruit, lemon verbena, and a clean, stony minerality. A slight saline note energizes the citrus oils and the subtle nuances that haven’t yet had time to fully develop. Best enjoyed after another year or two in the bottle.” (Wine Enthusiast 2026)

Rated estate (2021 guide): 3 stars (High-quality production, setting the standard in its sector)
About the estate:
Francine Picard, Michel’s daughter, is devoting all her considerable energy and idealism to reshaping the style of the wines from the family estate, which spans 140 hectares of vineyards. Since May 2019, she has been supported by Antoine Lepetit, a biodynamic consultant and her new technical director. The estate will be certified organic by the end of 2019, and changes are expected to continue, leading to even more precise winemaking and aging processes. A wide range of high-quality red and white wines offers a true glimpse into the different terroirs of the Chassagne and Saint-Aubin regions.
