On the outskirts of the village of Verzé, the Chardonnay draws its character from predominantly limestone soils. This yields intense mineral notes—flint and chalk—that highlight the character of the Croix-Jarrier terroir, which is cooler and more restrained in its expression than other hillsides in the Mâconnais region. About the estate:
The winemakers of Les Terres Secrètes represent three cooperative wineries (Prissé, Verzy, and Sologny), with 120 members who cultivate a total of 950 hectares, 650 of which are planted with Chardonnay. Since 2013, the winery has held a sustainable development certification.

Les Vignerons des Terres Secrètes are the heirs to the cooperative movement that emerged in the early 20th century in the Mâconnais region. This association, formed through the merger of the cooperative wineries of Prissé, Sologny, and Verzé, now cultivates nearly 950 hectares of vineyards (for 120 cooperative members), primarily Chardonnay.
