About the estate:
Since 1720, successive generations of the Protheau family have lived in Mercurey to carry on the winemaking tradition of Château d'Etroyes. Today, the estate owns a 50-hectare vineyard in the Côte Chalonnaise.

Tasted in February 2020. Clear, brilliant ruby color. Notes of crisp red fruit. Long on the palate, but it lacks the body to pair with Époisses.

Too expensive for the quality. It's just a Chalonnaise wine. Lacks depth, flat, disappointing for a 2015 vintage—needs reevaluation.
