Rated estate (2022 guide) 4 stars (Producers of very high quality, the pride of French vineyards)

About the estate:

This historic house, founded in 1831, is now run with great enthusiasm by Albéric Bichot, the sixth generation of a family whose presence in Burgundy dates back to the 13th century. Supported by Alain Serveau (technical director) and Christophe Chavel (wine director), these three musketeers have built an original model of a Burgundy house, with Bichot wines in all the appellations of the greater Burgundy region, as well as four estates richly endowed with fine wines: Long-Depaquit for Chablis, Clos-Frantin for Côte de Nuits, Domaine du Pavillon for Côte de Beaune, and Domaine Adélie for Côte Chalonnaise.

Rated estate (2022 guide) Selected (Please note that this guide is a ranking and, as such, all the estates listed in it, even those without stars, represent, in our opinion, the excellence of French production.)

About the estate:

This historic Beaune-based winery, run by Albéric Bichot since 1996, has not always been known for the consistency and quality of its wines. But things have changed significantly. The Albert Bichot label now encompasses wines from six estates: Long-Depaquit in Chablis (see this address), Clos Frantin and Château-Gris in Côte de Nuits, Domaine du Pavillon, Domaine Adélie in Côte Chalonnaise, and Domaine de Rochegrès in Beaujolais. Each of these structures has its own winemaking facilities and dedicated teams, led by technical director Alain Serveau.

Wine rated (2024 guide) 94/100

About wine:

The attack is marked by a slight lightness, followed by flavors of cherry compote, blackcurrant, and savory spices. A subtle balsamic note lingers on the palate. The supple tannins are harmoniously balanced by lively acidity, giving this medium-bodied wine a lovely balance. There is no trace of new oak.
