“A Pouilly-Fuissé made from the estate’s young vines, offering brilliant fruit, purity, and simply marvelous elegance!”

The Château des Quarts L'Orangerie Pouilly-Fuissé 1er Cru 2022 comes from the youngest vines and is racked into stainless steel tanks after 12 months (while the main cuvée returns to used barrels). The nose is tight and energetic. Citrus, lemon, and orange pulp mingle with light hints of petrichor. The palate is fresh and savory on the attack, with a delicate touch of acidity. It is slightly spicier than the previous vintage with an elegant finish. Very nice. 2025–2032” (Vinous 2024)

About the wine:

Bettane & Desseauve Guide 2025 / Best enjoyed between 2024 and 2030

About the estate:

Dominique Lafon and his partner and collaborator Olivier Merlin—both namesakes of their respective estates and two of the region’s most prominent and influential figures—have acquired this exceptional property. This prestigious architectural complex, nestled within a magnificent vineyard, is situated right in the heart of the vineyards; 2.5 hectares with full eastern exposure, on very poor, limestone-rich, and stony soil, which produce an exceptional Mâconnais cuvée, consistently impeccable in quality. It is not to be missed.
