"Perfectly cultivated and vinified 80-year-old Chardonnay grapes have produced this pale gold wine with an original aromatic profile: mango, vine peach, passion fruit, and quince. Round on the palate, it builds in power and volume, stretching out into a long, spicy finish." (Le Guide Hachette des Vins 2021)

About wine:

Perfectly cultivated and vinified 80-year-old Chardonnay grapes have produced this pale gold wine with an original aromatic profile: mango, vine peach, passion fruit, and quince. Round on the palate, it builds in power and volume, stretching out into a long, spicy finish.

About the estate:

Infected with the winegrowing bug at a young age while accompanying his parents in the vineyards, Guy Saumaize naturally gravitated towards a career as a winemaker. He also created a renowned nursery frequented by many producers in the region. Annie, his wife, took over the reins when he passed away in 2013. Since 2018, their son Guillaume has been at the helm of this 15-hectare estate, which he has renamed: Dom. des Maillettes has become Dom. G. Saumaize.
