"Made from vines that produced tiny berries, the 2017 Pouilly-Fuissé Les Cras opens in the glass with aromas of crisp yellow apple, citrus oil, hazelnuts, almonds, and mint. Medium-bodied to full-bodied, satiny and enveloping, it is deep and concentrated, with lively acidity and a long, salty finish." (Wine Advocate 2021)

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2020 guide) 3 stars (High-quality production, serving as a benchmark in its sector)
About the estate:
This large estate in Fuissé now covers 30 hectares, comprising a wide range of terroirs with great potential for future premier crus. Sandrine and her brother Christophe manage the property, with Christophe meticulously overseeing the wines and constantly questioning his approach. His decision to offer them with as much vintage variation as possible is to be commended. The vinification of individual parcels is intelligently carried out in magnificent, perfectly adapted modern facilities. The short-term goal is to convert the entire estate to organic farming. This is undoubtedly a benchmark estate in the Mâconnais region, producing wines for aging that are always very taut and straightforward in style.

Rated estate (2022 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer's wines are regularly recognized by the guide)
About the estate:
Coming from a dynasty of winegrowers spanning eight generations, Andrée and René Thibert created their own estate in 1967, covering 2.5 hectares. Today, their children Sandrine and Christophe are co-managers of a 20-hectare vineyard. A (very) safe bet in the Mâconnais region.

Rated estate (2022 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing good-quality wines; you won't be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)
About wine:
Harvested in Fuissé, Les Cras, with its tight texture and mineral tension, offers finesse and integrity, a wine designed to be cellared for five to ten years.
About the estate:
Established in 1967, the estate covers nearly 30 hectares spread across the Pouilly, Mâcon-Fuissé, Mâcon-Prissé, Mâcon-Verzé, and Saint-Véran appellations. It is family-run by Christophe Thibert and his sister Sandrine, in collaboration with the methodical Fabien Duperray (see Domaine Jules Desjourneys, in Beaujolais). The estate is going from strength to strength. The majority of the range reflects the precision of ripeness and mastery of ageing, as well as great aging potential, as proven by the latest vintages. We are close to a second star.
