Domaine Sébastien Giroux - Pouilly-Loché 2022
"A lesser-known appellation that shines with minerality and freshness: Favorite true Favorite "
A thoroughly charming Pouilly-Loché: on the nose, notes of white flowers, citrus, and white fruits that—after 3 to 5 years of aging—give way to more complex notes of pear, apricot, almonds, and toasted hazelnuts. Straightforward, silky, and elegant on the palate, it features complex and precise notes of yellow fruit and toasted almonds, with subtle hints of exotic fruits (ginger, candied pineapple, mango).

Bettane & Desseauve
Rated estate (2022 guide): 2 stars (A solid, recommendable production, though slightly more consistent and uniform than the previous one)
About the estate:
In 2009, Sébastien Giroux took over the family estate known as Yves Giroux & Fils, located halfway between Loché and Fuissé, after spending several years in the world of auto racing. As a member of the Artisans Vignerons association, he quickly earned the respectful admiration of his colleagues. The estate’s seven hectares are farmed organically—though not certified—with perfectionism and modesty. The wines are evolving to express greater personality and a deeper connection to their terroir.

Rated estate (2021 guide) Recommended (Wine producer recommended by Robert Parker – The Wine Advocate)
About the estate:
Sébastien Giroux, brother of Olivier Giroux of Clos des Rocs, took over management of this six-hectare estate in 2009 after an internship with the Bret brothers. The grapes are harvested by hand, followed by gentle pressing and aging in barrels and tanks, tailored to each cuvée. The wines are consistently supple, pure, and charming.
