“A very refined Chardonnay with a ripe, honeysuckle-scented nose. Though the vintage has been criticized, this wine displays a beautiful balance, the result of a very ripe harvest. Its oak is well-integrated, imparting subtle toasted notes that extend its finish. A great wine for fine dining.” (Le Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France 2021 - RVF)

5-Star Estate (Exceptional producers who represent the absolute pinnacle of quality in France and around the world)
About the estate:
While he has inspired many artisan winemakers in the Mâconnais region, Jean-Marie Guffens remains, even today, the master craftsman capable of producing a "simple" Mâcon worthy of the finest wines of the Côte d'Or, without succumbing to the "terroir-for-profit" system. He is a master of fractional pressing using a vertical press on very ripe grapes, a proponent of extended fermentation, and a genius of aging; an elite taster, this unparalleled winemaker continues to produce on his small Mâconnais estate quantities that are already too limited to meet international demand.

Wine rated (2014 guide) 90/100 (Excellent wine)
Estate rated "Recommended" (Wine producer recommended by Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate)
About the wine:
The 2013 Saint-Véran “Cuvée Unique” offers a well-defined bouquet with aromas of linden blossom, lemon sorbet, and yellow thyme that unfold in the glass. The palate is beautifully balanced, with a crisp acidity interwoven with vibrant citrus notes, leading to a lively, taut finish with subtle marine undertones. A truly fine wine.

Wine rated (2021 guide) 17,5/20 (Great wine)
Rated estate (2022 guide) 3*Stars (These represent the pinnacle of French winemaking. The finest terroirs cultivated by the greatest winemakers. Tasting their wine is always a magical experience)
About the wine:
A very refined Chardonnay with a ripe, honeysuckle-scented nose. Although the vintage is often criticized, this wine displays a beautiful balance, thanks to very ripe grapes. Its oak is well-integrated, imparting subtle toasted notes that extend its finish. A great wine for fine dining.
About the estate:
Jean-Marie Guffens has mastered the art of winemaking and bringing out the best in Chardonnay. Tasting one of his vintages, even after ten years, is always a special experience. He divides his time between the haute couture winemaking at this estate, managing his Verget wine merchant business, his property Château des Tourettes in the Luberon, and Château Closiot in Barsac, where he produces great dry and sweet wines when the vintage permits. He has revealed the potential of the best terroirs in the Mâconnais region and sparked interest in them. His great wines are universally acclaimed, stand the test of time, and leave a lasting impression. The very low yields of the 2019 vintage allowed for the production of only three wines; the pressings will be included in the Triangle cuvée. The estate’s wines are sold en primeur. Our advice is to take a chance on them while also exploring the other properties of this exceptional winemaker.
