Guffens-Heynen Estate
The Guffens-Heynen estate was born out of the shared passion for vines and wine and the particularly creative artistic sensibility of Maine and Jean-Marie Guffens-Heynen, who are originally from Flanders. Within a few years, through hard work, the Guffens-Heynen estate became one of the most renowned in the world for the quality of its wines.

After Jean-Marie studied viticulture and Maine spent time with the village winemakers, they became managers of a small estate in the Mâconnais region and learned how to work the vines. In 1979, they acquired a few plots of vines on the heights of Pierreclos. Enthusiastic but novice, they compensated for their lack of experience with an almost instinctive approach to vines and wine. An outstanding winemaker and breeder, Jean-Marie Guffens-Heynen produces rare vintages, praised by all for their elegance and rare consistency.

This talented duo is also involved in the destiny of Maison Verget, a small wine merchant in the heart of the Mâconnais region, which enjoys similar success thanks to its wines' elegance and finesse, and their ability to express the terroir better than any others.
