Saint-Véran
The Saint-Véran Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée (AOC), established in 1971 in the Mâconnais region of Saône-et-Loire, covers Chânes, Chasselas, Davayé, Leynes, Prissé, Saint-Vérand, and Solutré-Pouilly. Saint-Véran wines may include the name of their climate of origin, a common practice in Burgundy. The Saint-Véran vineyard, spread over 680 hectares between two areas separated by the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation, benefits from a Jurassic limestone terroir with varied exposure: south, west, and east. The white wines of Saint-Véran, made exclusively from the Chardonnay grape variety, are distinguished by their dry, round character, pronounced minerality, and fruity and floral aromas. Estates such as Chanson Père et Fils, Guffens-Heynen, and Maison Verget are prominent examples. Saint-Véran white wine, grown in the south of the Mâconnais region, offers a dry and round texture with fruity and floral nuances, perfect for accompanying a wide variety of dishes, from fish to strong cheeses.

A subtle and balanced Burgundy white wine

Saint-Véran benefits from limestone soil on the slopes of Solutré, producing a still wine made from a single Chardonnay B grape variety, with a bright color and fruit and floral aromas, evolving into more complex notes with age.

Saint Véran, a white wine for a variety of dishes

Saint-Véran AOC pairs well with a variety of dishes, enhancing the flavors of fish, balancing the iodine of seafood, or complementing the melt-in-the-mouth texture of veal blanquette, ideally served between 9 and 54°F depending on its age.
