Bérèche & Fils - Instant 2004

Bérèche & Fils - Instant 2004

Notes: Gault Millau 16.5/20, RVF 16/20
A beautiful cuvée from the Montagne de Reims, characteristic of the chalky soil of the region, which gives it freshness and flavor, and whose perfect aging brings breed, finesse, and beautiful aromatic complexity. "In the new Instant range, the 2004 emphasizes the fruity, invigorating, very Chardonnay expression of the vintage with even more elegance." (Les Meilleurs Vins de France 2011- RVF)

Gault & Millau Wine Guide

Guide des Vins Gault & Millau

Rated estate (2012 guide) 3 stars (Very good production)

About the estate:

The Bérèches are committed to the knowledge of their "fathers" (no chemical weed killers, plowing, etc.) but do not hesitate to question themselves. Raphaël, Vincent, and their parents strive to remain faithful to what their 9 hectares of vines, located mainly on the Montagne de Reims and in the Marne Valley, have to offer."

Rated estate (2011 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing good-quality wines; you won't be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)

About the estate:

"Regularly distinguished in our tastings over the past four years, this estate in the northwest of the Montagne de Reims stands out first and foremost for its respect for the grape, which logically leads to parcel-by-parcel selection and vinification. Without going organic, Raphaël Bérèche has abandoned chemical weed control since 2004. He continues the barrel and demi-muid aging practices initiated by his father Jean-Pierre, who released his first wood-aged cuvée (Reflet d'Antan) twenty years ago. On a terroir dominated by Pinot Noir and Meunier, naturally robust in expression, the search for maturity is never at the expense of tension on the palate. Dosages are light, even non-existent (Zéro cuvée).
