Bérèche & Fils - Instant 2004
Notes: Gault Millau 16.5/20, RVF 16/20
A fine cuvée from the Montagne de Reims, reflecting the region’s chalky terroir, which lends it freshness and savory notes, and whose perfect aging imparts character, finesse, and a beautiful aromatic complexity. “In the new Instant range, the 2004 highlights the vintage’s fruity, lively, very Chardonnay-like character with even greater elegance.” (Les Meilleurs Vins de France 2011 – RVF)

Guide des Vins Gault & Millau
Rated estate (2012 guide): 3 stars (Very high-quality production)
About the estate:
"The Bérèches are committed to the traditions of their 'forefathers' (no chemical herbicides, no plowing, etc.), but they are not afraid to challenge themselves. Raphaël, Vincent, and their parents strive to remain true to what their approximately 9 hectares of vineyards—located largely on the Montagne de Reims and in the Marne Valley—have to offer.”
RVF - La Revue du Vin de France / Guide des Meilleurs Vins de France
Rated estate (2011 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)
About the estate:
“Consistently recognized in our tastings over the past four years, this estate in the northwest of the Montagne de Reims stands out first and foremost for its respect for the grapes, which naturally leads to single-vineyard selections and winemaking. Without going fully organic, Raphaël Bérèche has stopped using chemical weed killers since 2004. He continues the barrel and demi-muid aging practices initiated by his father Jean-Pierre, who released his first oak-aged cuvée (Reflet d’Antan) twenty years ago. On a terroir dominated by Pinot Noir and Meunier, naturally robust in expression, the pursuit of ripeness is never at the expense of tension on the palate. Dosages are light, or even nonexistent (Cuvée Zéro).”
