Fleury Champagne
The family-owned Champagne Fleury has been based in Courteron since 1895, in the heart of southern Champagne, in the Côte des Bar. On the clay-limestone slopes formed during the Kimmeridgian period by the first tributaries of the Seine, the 15-hectare vineyard is primarily planted with Pinot Noir (85%), Chardonnay (10%), with the remainder consisting of Pinot Blanc (a historic variety in Champagne), Pinot Gris (replanted in 2010), and Pinot Meunier.
The Fleury family was one of the pioneering houses to adopt organic farming methods (1970) and then biodynamic farming in 1992, introduced to the estate by Jean-Pierre Fleury. “Unusual in the world of Champagne, this visionary house expresses the roundness and maturity of Pinot from the Aube region in a delicious range of wines. ” (Le Guide RVF)
