Fleury Champagne
The Champagne Fleury family business has been based in Courteron, in the heart of southern Champagne in the Côte des Bar, since 1895. On the clay-limestone hillsides formed in the Kimmeridgian period by the first tributaries of the Seine, the 15-hectare vineyard is mainly planted with Pinot Noir (85%), Chardonnay (10%) and the rest in Pinot Blanc (a historic grape variety in Champagne), Pinot Gris (replanted in 2010) and Pinot Meunier.
The Fleury family was one of the pioneers in adopting organic farming methods (1970) and then biodynamic farming in 1992, initiated on the estate by Jean-Pierre Fleury. "Atypical in the Champagne world, this visionary house expresses the roundness and maturity of Aube Pinot in a delicious range. " (Le Guide RVF)
