Fleury Champagne
The family-owned Champagne Fleury has been based in Courteron since 1895, in the heart of southern Champagne, in the Côte des Bar. On the clay-limestone slopes formed during the Kimmeridgian period by the upper reaches of the Seine, the 15-hectare vineyard is planted primarily with Pinot Noir (85%), Chardonnay (10%), with the remainder consisting of Pinot Blanc (a historic variety in Champagne), Pinot Gris (replanted in 2010), and Pinot Meunier.
The Fleury family was one of the pioneering houses in adopting organic farming methods (1970) and then biodynamics in 1992, initiated on the estate by Jean-Pierre Fleury. “Unusual in the Champagne world, this visionary house expresses the roundness and maturity of Aube Pinot Noir in a delicious range. ” (Le Guide RVF)
