"Brilliant purity!"

"Champagne Millésime Extra Brut 2019 has a brilliant straw yellow color and offers intense, precise notes of fresh pear, crushed stones, delicate mineral notes, Meyer lemon and fresh lemongrass. With a light mousse and plenty of energy, this wine is concentrated and sapid, yet light on the palate. Elegant, fruity and long on the palate, this is a very pleasant wine. It has a pure lemon balm finish and lots of purity, yet remains compact and refined." (Jeb Dunnuck).

Domaine rated (guide 2026) 4*Stars (Top-quality producers, the glories of French winegrowing)

About the domain :

This Epernay-based brand, a pioneer of organic viticulture in Champagne, was founded by the Leclerc family in 1872, and enjoyed a renaissance under the aegis of Pascal Leclerc Briant in the 1990s and 2000s. In 2012, the trading house was bought by an American couple, Mark Nunnelly and Denise Dupré, who were passionate about Champagne and the French art of living. Today, the house has found a brilliant maturity, complemented by the spectacular relaunch of Hôtel Royal Champagne. All the champagnes, produced using biodynamic viticulture methods, have great personality and deep, intense expression. Hervé Jestin, the cellar master, offers wines that arouse our admiration.

Domaine rated (guide 2026) 2*Stars (These great estates, often endowed with fabulous terroirs, are must-haves which, thanks to their consistency and the excellence of their production, must be included in the cellars of discerning wine lovers).

About the domain :

Acquired in 2012 by a passionate American couple, this small estate has risen from the ashes thanks to wines of great personality. The vineyards are farmed biodynamically, and purchases are made from organic or biodynamic winegrowers. The majority of supplies come from the finest terroirs (Mailly, Le Mesnil, Cumières...). Hervé Jestin has been with the company for several years, with the talent we know him for. The Abyss cuvées, champagnes immersed at the bottom of the sea for 12 months off Ouessant Island, have a real identity, as do the Château d'Avize and Les Mont Ferrés parcellaires. Partial ageing in wood, low dosage, tension and vinosity are the hallmarks of this fine house.
