4-star estate (Producers of very high quality, the pride of French vineyards)

About the estate:

This beautiful cellar with ultra-modern facilities on the outskirts of Reims operates with the rigor and seriousness of a traditional house, which is reflected in the care taken with the range. The supplies are marked by the northern sectors of the Montagne de Reims, which is reflected in the integrity of the cuvées, from the successful blanc de blancs to the Solera rosé, made from an original solera of red wine, which gives it an inimitable character. The vintages age to perfection here and are put back on the market after a few more years in the cellar.

About wine:

The Chardonnay from La Perle Blanche is in great shape in this consistent vintage. It is ripe, with soft nuances of yellow apple, white peach, and walnut oil, on a clean and lively palate, which is slightly smoky with reductive notes, but quite juicy and showing a hint of pineapple. A fine example of Chardonnay.

About the estate:

Champagne Palmer & Co is an offshoot of the Société Coopérative des Grands Crus de la Champagne, established in Avize in 1947. The Palmer & Co brand was created the following year in 1948. The founders were seven winegrowers who owned vineyards in the premier and grand cru areas of the Côte des Blancs and Montagne de Reims. The cooperative moved to Reims in 1959 and began to expand into other vineyards such as Sézanne and the Riceys region. As a result, the symbolic milestone of one million bottles of champagne was reached in the 1980s.

Wine rated (2023 guide) 91/100

About wine:

The NV Brut Blanc de Blancs has a very discreet nose, offering only slight notes of cornmeal and wheat bread. The palate, with its vigorous mousse, is lively, but brings lemony touches to an essentially taut and brilliant body, resulting in a classic, vibrant and slender wine with a real sense of tension and sobriety. Classic, without ostentation, but doing what it says on the tin. Very pleasant. The dosage is 6.5 g/l. Disgorged: August 2021.

About wine:

On the nose, pastries, sliced apples, spiced pears, and shortbread. It is elegant, fresh, and balanced, with tight bubbles and savory elements of pastry and yeast. Drink now.
