"The epitome of Ruinart's signature style, this delicate Blanc de Blancs strikes a perfect balance between freshness and roundness"
“An iconic Blanc de Blancs from Champagne. Its greenish-gold hue sparkles, and the characteristic aromas of acacia, yellow citrus, and white pome fruits come through with great precision. The chalky and iodine-like aromas lend it a great sense of verticality. On the palate, it displays a lively, crisp texture; the apple-pear notes are perfectly balanced, and the salty acidity is highly inviting.” (The Bettane + Desseauve Guide)

Rated estate (2024 guide) 4*Stars (Producers of the very highest quality, the pride of French viticulture)
About the wine:
An iconic Blanc de Blancs from Champagne. Its greenish-gold hue sparkles, and the characteristic aromas of acacia, yellow citrus, and white pome fruits come through with great precision. Hints of chalk and iodine lend it a crisp, clean profile. On the palate, it reveals a lively, crisp texture; the apple-pear notes are perfectly balanced, and the briny acidity is highly inviting.
About the estate:
What can one say about this estate other than that it is in dazzling form, led by a cellar master, Frédéric Panaïotis, at the peak of his craft, and by technical teams—in the vineyard, in the cellar, and in support roles—driven by the same high standards and the same commitment to innovation. The entire range has gained spectacular precision and intensity, without losing any of its signature style rooted in aromatic brilliance. Focused primarily on Chardonnays from the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims, the champagnes all exhibit great delicacy and aromatic purity, where chalk, flowers, white fruits, and citrus notes express themselves remarkably. The latest vintages of the Dom Ruinart cuvée have greatly impressed us. Committed to art and creativity, the house draws on the greatest talents to interpret its DNA, its style, and its art of living.

About the estate:
The oldest of the champagne houses. It could be classified as a historic monument, just like its cellars, which were carved into the chalk during the Gallo-Roman period and have been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2015. The company’s founder, Nicolas Ruinart, added wine trading to his cloth merchant business in 1729—another thriving industry in the region at the time, though it was soon abandoned. The company remained family-owned until its acquisition by Moët & Chandon in 1963. Its prestigious champagne takes its name from the monk Dom Ruinart, a scholar and contemporary of Dom Pérignon. At the heart of Ruinart’s cuvées since 1947 has been Chardonnay, resulting in a style that emphasizes freshness. Frédéric Panaïotis has been the cellar master since 2007.

About the wine:
A burst of spring freshness, blending white fruits and wildflowers, opens the nose. Chalky notes are not far off, interspersed with hints of tiny seashells. This salinity is also evident in the wine’s slender body, where the bubbles add a lively touch. The chalky notes return in a fresh, mineral-driven finish.

About the wine:
The initial aromas of Ruinart's Blanc de Blancs NV are floral in nature, accompanied by notes of lemon oil, spices, and citrus blossoms. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and perfectly balanced, with a round, smooth texture that leads to an ethereal and enticing finish. It should age well for five to eight years.

Rated estate (2025 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)
About the wine:
With fine, abundant bubbles, the nose reveals a very classic profile, with a hint of reduction that doesn’t fully release the aromas. After some time in the glass, nuances of citrus emerge, combined with notes of hazelnut and fresh bread crumb. On the palate, it offers a lovely, full-bodied, and creamy attack; the bubbles are well-managed, the wine is balanced, and a light dosage lingers on the palate through the finish.
About the estate:
Founded in 1729, this leading Champagne house enjoys an excellent reputation in France thanks to its outstanding work in marketing as well as in the style and identity of its wines. The focus is on Chardonnay, fine aging on the lees, and a creamy texture, resulting in wines that strike a chord with a clientele deeply loyal to the brand. Under the leadership of Frédéric Panaïotis, the cellar master, the wines have gained in purity and precision. The champagnes presented this year confirm a return to balanced dosages, precise maturity, and greater complexity.

Rated: Recommended
About the wine:
A very appealing style that captures the elegance of Chardonnay in a way that remains immensely satisfying. The aromas are all centered on lemon, grapefruit, fresh floral notes, and stone fruits. The palate offers a sense of ripeness, flavor, and fullness, with notes of peach cream and lemon brûlée. The acidity is well-balanced in the background. Ready to drink now.
Jeb Dunnuck
Wine rated (2024 guide) 91/100
About the wine:
Fully fermented in stainless steel with complete malolactic fermentation, it has a bright silvery-straw color, and its nose is very appealing, with aromas of bread dough, lovely white flowers, citrus zest, and fresh lime. Easy-drinking and approachable, it has a chalky texture with a hint of sweet fruit and is very elegant. It is perfect for drinking now or within the next 5 to 6 years.

Review by Mr. BRUNO V. Posted on January 21, 2025
The top rating isn't for the wine itself—which, surprisingly, didn't live up to expectations (perhaps due to storage issues)—but for the customer service at 1 JOUR 1 VIN, which addressed the issue and found a solution very quickly. I remain loyal to Ruinart—after all, a one-off mishap can always happen—and I recommend 1J1V, whose professionalism deserves special mention.
