In addition to running a very charming hotel, this enterprising cousin of another Peretti della Rocca (a long-established local aristocratic family) has revitalized his family’s vineyard heritage and, with sound advice from his cousin Canarelli, meticulously crafts his flagship wine, called Jules.

The Corsican wine industry is home to two Jean-Baptiste de Perettis, who are first cousins; both are based in Figari, at the southern tip of Corsica, in vineyards located a few kilometers apart. This estate is the newer of the two. Founded in 2017, it spans 40 hectares of land—including nearly 15 hectares of vineyards—and serves a dual purpose: winemaking and tourism, with guest rooms available.

A hint of violet gives way to a well-structured body, full-bodied without being excessive; the Sciaccarellu fruit dominates, and the wine is fresh overall; it was aged in barrels and stainless steel tanks. (RVF Magazine No. 682, July–August 2024)
