“Here is another magnificent Muscat from Cap Corse which, in Yves Leccia’s 2023 vintage, evokes notes of frangipane and pastries with an exquisite aroma of fresh grapes. The nose opens with great panache, fragrance, and aromatic intensity. It is extremely pleasant to taste. On the palate, the sweet wine is rich and creamy without being heavy, as it is well balanced by a lively freshness and a perfectly executed fortification. The aroma remains fruity, with notes of lychee and pineapple. The finish is long—very long. I loved the overall harmony of this wine. About the estate:
An oenologist involved in the revival and promotion of the island’s wines, Yves Leccia founded his own estate in 2005, after managing the family business alongside his sister for about fifteen years. Today, together with his wife Sandrine, he runs a 16-hectare vineyard on clay-limestone and schist soils in Poggio-d’Oletta. Certified organic since 2017, it is one of the pillars of the Patrimonio appellation and is also frequently recognized for its Muscat wines.

About the wine:
Bright, luminous pale gold. Upon opening, a subtle, fresh terpenic note of Petit Grain Muscat emerges, with abundant citrus zest and bergamot—a fresh, fragrant bouquet. The palate is well-structured, expressing vibrancy and finesse; sweetness is present, but freshness takes the lead.
About the estate:
Yves Leccia and his partner, Sandrine, run a vineyard located primarily on the E Croce and Partinelone plots. The entire vineyard is plowed and cultivated, and only organic fertilizers are used. The estate has been highly innovative in recent years, introducing new wines such as O Bà, Biancu Marinu, and L’Altru Biancu. These meticulously crafted wines remain fine ambassadors for Corsican viticulture, but care must be taken not to overshadow their individuality: some wines, more standardized than in the past, place too much emphasis on technical precision.

About the wine:
If you’ve ever tasted South African koeksisters and watermelon konfyt, you’ll understand what I mean when I describe this wine as the result of a marriage between the two. It’s very sweet, but the citrus notes temper the sweetness, and the spicy notes of dried herbs and lavender balance it out, preventing it from being cloying. It finishes with delicate floral notes of freesia and rose oil. Long on the palate. It was delicious with a fresh, creamy, and mild goat cheese.
