“A superb Vermentino from Corsica, complex and mineral”

“A light, fragrant nose with notes of hawthorn. A sunny abundance of white peaches and bergamot in a bright, tangy profile, punctuated by salty notes. Creamy, parabolic curves transform the citrus into lemon cream and candied peel. Soft, sweet, and bright green herbs: basil, lemon balm, angelica. Very fragrant. Very pure. A mineral, cool, and damp finish, like wet pebbles.” (Jancis Robinson 2025)

Rated estate (2022 guide) Award-winning wines (This producer’s wines are regularly recognized by the guide)

About the estate:

An oenologist dedicated to the revival and promotion of island wines, Yves Leccia established his own winery in 2005, after managing the family estate alongside his sister for some fifteen years. Today, he and his wife Sandrine run a 16-hectare vineyard on clay-limestone and schist soils in Poggio-d'Oletta. Certified organic since 2017, it is one of the pillars of the Patrimonio appellation, often noted as well for its Muscat wines.

Rated wine (2025 guide) 91/100 (Excellent wine)

About the wine:

The E Croce Blanc 2024 reveals aromas of white flowers, curry leaves, ripe orchard fruits, and iodine, followed by a moderately full-bodied, round, and supple palate, with a delicately fleshy fruit core, lively acidity, and a long, briny finish. Elegant and fragrant, it is an ideal introduction to Corsican white wines.

Wine rated (2026 guide) 91/100

Rated estate (2022 guide) 1*Star (Up-and-coming stars or quality winemakers producing wines of a high standard—you won’t be disappointed when tasting the wines from these estates)

About the wine:

Light yellow with greenish highlights. A very pure Vermentino, with a lovely mineral brightness and floral and orgeat notes. On the palate, it offers a light, refined, and refreshing structure. Not intended for aging, it provides immediate enjoyment and pairs well with appetizers and grilled fish.

About the estate:

Yves Leccia and his partner, Sandrine, run a vineyard located primarily on the E Croce and Partinelone plots. The entire vineyard is plowed and cultivated, and only organic fertilizers are used. The estate has been highly innovative in recent years with new wines such as O Bà, Biancu Marinu, and L'Altru Biancu. Meticulously crafted, these wines remain fine ambassadors for Corsican viticulture, but care must be taken not to overshadow their individuality: some wines, more standardized than in the past, place too much emphasis on technical precision.

Wine rated (2025 guide) 94/100

About the wine:

The Patrimonio E-Croce 2024 comes from one of Patrimonio’s finest terroirs, characterized by clay-limestone soil interspersed with schist, which lends the wine a devilish precision and makes it a powerful expression of Vermentino. In 2024, the wine expresses itself with notes of stone and a well-integrated reduction. The texture is pure, lively, balanced, and very dynamic. A mineral wine, vinified with talent and great style, it is a lively and fresh white to enjoy now and through 2030.
