Patrimonio
The Patrimonio appellation d'origine contrôlée is a Corsican appellation covering the Nebbio (fog) region. At the foot of Cap Corse, the Patrimonio appellation opens onto the Gulf of Saint-Florent, with its plains, hills and valleys. Its dense network of rivers and ridges closes off the area to the east, towards Bastia, and to the south, towards the Agriate desert.

The Patrimonio AOC benefits from a particularly diversified terroir dating from the secondary, tertiary and quaternary periods. The soils are clay-limestone, schist or granite. The climate is Mediterranean: seasonal winds (such as the Maestrale and Libeccio) influence vegetation, and the lowest areas of the basins are sensitive to frost. Fog is also very frequent, making Patrimonio vineyards particularly susceptible to mildew.

AOC Patrimonio produces red and rosé wines mainly from Nielluccio grapes, and white wines from Vermentino. The Yves Leccia, Clos Teddi and Giudicelli estates offer samples that are particularly representative of the quality and typicity of the Patrimonio terroir.
