Borja Field
The Campo de Borja appellation is a "Denominación de Origen" located in the northwest of the province of Zaragoza, in northern Spain. The oldest vineyards in the Campo de Borja D.O. date back to 1145. The D.O. designation was granted to Campo de Borja in 1978, and it covers an area of 7,500 hectares, spanning 16 municipalities.

The grape varieties used for Campo de Borja wines are varied, but the appellation’s flagship grape is undoubtedly Grenache. This variety accounts for over 60% of the vineyards in the D.O. Campo de Borja. Single-varietal wines made from Grenache have established the appellation’s prestige worldwide. Red wines also utilize Tempranillo, Mazuela, Cabernet, Merlot, and Syrah. White wines, meanwhile, are made from Macabeu, Chardonnay, and Moscatel. The DO Campo de Borja designation is authorized for all three wine categories—Crianza, Reserva, and Gran Reserva—as well as for certain sweet wines. Production is not very high, but the wine is of high quality and highly regarded for its aromatic complexity.

Wine enthusiasts can fully appreciate the qualities of the Campo de Borja terroir through the wines offered by Bodegas Coto de Hayas or Bodega Borsao.
