Borja Field
The Campo de Borja appellation is a Denominación de Origen located in the northwest of the province of Zaragoza, in northern Spain. The oldest vineyards in the Campo de Borja DO date back to 1145. The DO label was granted to Campo de Borja in 1978, and covers an area of 7,500 hectares, spanning 16 municipalities.

The grape varieties used for Campo de Borja wines are varied, but the king of the appellation is undoubtedly Grenache. This variety accounts for more than 60% of the vineyards in the D.O. Campo de Borja. Single-varietal wines made from Grenache have made the appellation famous throughout the world. Red wines also use Tempranillo, Mazuela, Cabernet, Merlot, and Syrah grapes. White wines are made from Macabeu, Chardonnay, and Moscatel grapes. The DO Campo de Borja appellation is authorized for all three colors of wine, crianza, reserva, and gran reserva, as well as for certain sweet wines. Production is not very high, but the wine is of high quality and highly appreciated for its aromatic complexity.

Wine lovers can get a perfect idea of the qualities of the Campo de Borja terroir thanks to the wines offered by Bodegas Coto de Hayas and Bodega Borsao.
