"... The wine is subtle and harmonious, elegant and alluring, with all its components in perfect balance. It is precise and pure; Sisseck is meticulous and painstaking, and the wine reflects this precision. It follows in the footsteps of the 2016, which was excellent even though it was bottled just one month before tasting." (Wine Advocate 2021)

Estate rated "Recommended" (Wine producer recommended by Robert Parker - The Wine Advocate)

About the wine:

I was eagerly awaiting the bottled version of the 2018 Pingus after an excellent tasting of the barrel sample last year. Part of the wine was aged in 20,000-liter oak vats, so not all of it was in barrels. This is the first time they’ve used vats, and based on the results, Sisseck believes that in the future, about 50% of Pingus will be aged in oak vats. The Pingus vineyards were planted in 1929 in two different areas of the village of La Horra, Barroso and San Cristobal, and contain about 2% of other varieties. The vineyards are certified organic and biodynamic and are maintained with a level of care rarely seen in Spanish vineyards. The wine is subtle and harmonious, elegant and alluring, with all components in excellent balance. It is precise and pure; Sisseck is meticulous and painstaking, and the wine reflects this precision. It follows the style of the 2016 vintage, which was excellent even though it was bottled just one month before tasting. 9,300 bottles were produced in August 2020.

About the wine:

Very fragrant and aromatic, with notes of blackberry, cherry, blueberry, and fresh flowers such as violet. Full-bodied with a tight, well-defined structure and fine tannins, leading to a long, precise finish. Refined and linear. Good length. Best enjoyed after 2023.
