Bodegas Sobreno

Bodegas Sobreño was founded by a group of Rioja winegrowers who created a family winery with the aim of producing quality wines for the international market, based on a local grape variety, Tinta de Toro. In 1999, the first vintage was produced and in a short time, the wines won numerous awards, and Bodegas Sobreño quickly became one of the leading estates in the Douro.

Located in the heart of 24 hectares of vineyards, Bodegas Sobreno owns a total of 80 hectares, with an additional 90 hectares through exclusive agreements with local producers. Many of the vines are pre-phylloxera, meaning they are planted directly without the need for grafting, which increases their longevity.

Bodegas Sobreño produces straightforward, well-balanced, intensely colored red wines typical of Toro. Today, it produces nearly 500,000 bottles, 70% of which are exported to more than 16 countries.
