Naoussa
The Naoussa appellation is a single-varietal PDO dedicated exclusively to the Xinomavro grape variety, whose vintages produced from this terroir are among the finest expressions of the grape.
The appellation covers 333 hectares in the heart of the Imathia region in central Macedonia, on hillsides ranging in altitude from 150 to 400 meters above sea level, with soils that are largely clay-limestone, loamy, and sandy.

The Xinomavro grape variety is often compared to Italy's Nebbiolo. Its fine color, firm tannins, and vibrant acidity generally produce fine, elegant wines suitable for aging.

A Naoussa cuvée can be designated "Reserve" if it has been aged for at least two years, including at least 12 months in oak barrels, and "Grand Reserve" if it has been aged for at least four years, including 18 months in oak barrels.
