Wine rated (2021 guide) 93/100
About wine:
Villero is a vast, southwest-facing vineyard with numerous owners. Boroli’s version is aged partly in new oak barrels. The nose is complex, with aromas of damp leaves, truffles, raspberries, and dried herbs. It is not a blockbuster, but a graceful and polished wine with fine tannins and sufficient acidity. Light on its feet, yet showing substance and complexity, it has a guaranteed long finish on red fruit. It is a striking contrast to the more austere Brunella, but this Villero is generally an excellent wine. 2021–2032
Robert Parker - Wine Advocate
Wine rating (2018 guide) 92/100 (Outstanding wine)
About wine:
The 2013 Barolo Villero is a firm, slightly austere wine, with abundant notes of black fruit, licorice, crushed minerals, and spices woven deep into its structure. The style is direct and traditional, with a dry yet lingering finish. 2018–2030
