Boroli
It's in the province of Cuneo that a small Piedmontese commune, Barolo, gives its name to Italy's most prestigious wine appellation, also nicknamed "The Wine of Kings" or "King of Wines".
For centuries, eleven communes spread over these hillsides with their different orientations and terroirs have produced wines of exceptional quality, including La Morra, Castiglione Falletto, Monfort and Serralunga d'Alba.
The Barolo appellation represents some 1,980 hectares of the region's typical grape variety: Nebbiolo. These wines are aged for at least 2 years in oak barrels and 1 year in bottle.
Charmed by this exceptional grape variety and historic terroir, the Boroli family, originally from Piedmont, devoted themselves to viticulture in 1990, transforming their passion into an art of living.
Their attentiveness to climatic conditions and meticulous attention to the grapes in their vineyards have resulted in wines of the highest quality, acclaimed by the critics and offering unforgettable tasting experiences. The excellence and precision of their cultivation has also become a real philosophy: "total, constant, uncompromising quality".
This is how each of their cuvées: Classico, Cerequio, Villero and Brunella, exude their own personalities, and represent each of the terroirs from which they come. Barolo wines that perfectly justify their nickname of "kings of wines".
Buyer's tip: "These Barolos have the acidity and freshness of the Nebbiolo grape variety, giving them the ability to magnify with aeration: taste as soon as you open, and again 24 hours later: the aromatic profile of your wine will offer you a different approach and a new, surprising and delicious personality."
All from the same grape variety and using the same highly precise winemaking methods, the quality of their cuvées is based on the differentiation of Barolo's terroirs. Here are a few key points to help you better understand and appreciate them:
- Brunelle/Brunella: one of the finest plots in Barolo, with full exposure: South, East and West: 50% silt, 30% sand, 20% clay, at an altitude of around 300 m, ideal soil and climatic conditions for Nebbiolo, located in the municipality of Castiglione Falletto.
- Villero: the plots are located between Sant'Agata and Castiglione Falletto, facing south-west, at an altitude of around 250m. Villero: optimal grape ripening: unique soil composition of 60% silt, 20% clay, 10% sand with 10% fossil mixtures, shells and plant deposits; distinctive complexity.
- Cerequio: plots located in the Barolo commune and "la riviera des Langhe", east-south-east orientation, plenty of sunshine, 50% silty, 25% sandy, 25% clay, approx. 350m altitude, natural fertilization, green manure, beautifully ripe grapes.
