Wine rated (2018 guide) 89/100 (Very good wine)

About the wine:

The 2014 Barolo is a full-bodied and juicy expression of Nebbiolo that is wonderfully drinkable right from the start. The bouquet evokes black fruits and sweet cherries, with subtle notes of smoke, spices, and toasted herbs. This vintage is more refined on the palate, but its lack of power is offset by its elegance and finesse. The wine is fermented with submerged caps for 20 days, then aged in barrels for 18 months. Some 14,648 bottles were produced. This wine offers great value in an approachable vintage. 2020–2030

Wine rated (2023 guide) 89/100

About the wine:

Made from a blend of three vineyards, the 2014 Barolo boasts a rich garnet color. It shows some development and is beginning to come together, with notes of ripe berry liqueur, balsamic vinegar, and licorice. Medium-bodied, it reveals fine tannins, an elegant texture, fresh acidity, and notes of baked red cherry, cinnamon, and burnt orange peel. Best enjoyed between 2023 and 2030.
